My Journey
Starting a new project always brings excitement and challenges. Recently, I had the opportunity to create a website for a cleaning and technical services company in the UAE. Here’s a quick story of how it all came together.
Meeting the Client
The journey began with a referral from a past client. My new client was launching a cleaning and technical services company and needed a website for their upcoming opening. Our first meeting was focused on understanding their needs:
- Target Audience: Potential customers
- Key Features: Home, About, Services, Contact, and Booking pages
- Design Preferences: Clean and professional style
Creating a Mockup Design
I created a mockup design to help the client visualize the website. The mockup included:
Matt Buenagua
- Layout: Arrangement of elements on each page
- Color Scheme: Matching the client’s branding
- Features: Placeholder text and images
The client loved the mockup, and we moved forward.
Building the Website
Tools and Plugins
I used WordPress for its flexibility and ease of use. Key tools included:
- Theme: Astra
- Page Builder: Elementor
- Booking Plugin: WooCommerce Bookings
- Contact Form: Contact Form 7
- SEO Plugin: Yoast SEO
Development Steps
- Set Up WordPress: Installed on a reliable hosting service and set up Astra theme.
- Design Pages: Used Elementor to create Home, About, Services, Contact, and Booking pages.
- Implement Booking System: Integrated WooCommerce Bookings.
- SEO Optimization: Used Yoast SEO.
- Testing: Ensured functionality across devices and browsers.
Overcoming Challenges
We hit a snag with the booking system. Clients couldn’t select available dates. To fix this:
- Switched Themes: Chose a theme compatible with WooCommerce Bookings.
- Consulted Support: Got help from the plugin support team.
- Extensive Testing: Made sure everything worked smoothly.
Launching the Website
With everything in place and tested, we launched the website. The client was thrilled with the result.
Post-Launch
I provided training on updating content and managing bookings, and set up regular backups and security measures.
Conclusion
Creating this website was a rewarding experience. From planning to overcoming challenges, every step was a learning opportunity. The end result is a professional, user-friendly website ready to attract and serve customers. If you need help with your next project, feel free to reach out! Happy building!
